Re: Flight Tracking

>> guess the speed competition
That's a good idea. I'll bring it along each time from now on.

Flight Tracking

So the winner of today's speed trials is Jamie's Ninja, with a speed of 180.7mph, followed by Craig's powered glider with 130.4mph! For those who weren't there, this was recorded using my GPS tracker, first described in the December 2017 Newsletter, page 15. Attached are .kml files for both flights ...

My kind of quad!

Back in 2015, when the quadcopter boom was starting, I though I would get one to find out what the fuss was about. As described in the April 2015 Newsletter, I bought a 250 size quad, built it and (just about) taught myself to fly it. And there it ended, as I quickly lost interest and the machine sp...

From the Workshop

An occasional diary about what (if anything!) is happening in the workshop here. My main priority at this time of year is trying to stop the wisteria from taking over the workshop… Not that easy, as tendrils can grow a meter in length in only a few days, and have been coming in through windows, doo...

Re: Hawker Fury build

Very nice! Sorry I couldn't be there for some in-flight shots, hopefully some time. I did warn you about the nose-over landings! ;)

Some more progress: 20210225_160435.jpg 20210227_152241.jpg The underside is all white, so that plus the bits that are going to stay white are all sprayed white. 20210312_133331.jpg Then masking. Markings and the whole underside are masked off. c.jpg A quick spray with rattle can primer, then airbru...

Re: Hawker Fury build

That looks pretty good, it's almost impossible to get that stuff on without wrinkles. It's why I don't let people look too closely at the Hart :)

Re: Hawker Fury build

Beautiful! The Hawker bi-planes of that time are some of the best looking planes ever built. I sometimes think it's a shame to cover up a stringered fuselage like that. Solartex would probably be far too heavy for such a small model, Litespan perhaps? Otherwise tissue & dope as you say. Camera is re...

Re: Sea Harrier

I thought that would catch your eye :) It's a hand-launched pusher, wish I had a cunning plan but no... There is an EDF version exhausting though the rear nozzles, but I think that's rather risky and would probably be under powered. Although you have to buy the plan, the build guide is freely availa...

Sea Harrier

I'm building a couple of Depron models at the moment. The first is the Sea Harrier, from Craig Clarkson's plan in https://jetworks.online/parkjets/ I've been describing it in the Jetworks Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1826370074287164, but for those not on Facebook or not in that ...
